Kasetsart University Laboratory School, Center for Educational Research and Development was established on April 22 , 1971 as a field base for student teachers from the Faculty of Education of Kasetsart University, as a laboratory for educational research and as an institution to provide general education for boys and girls according to their abilities, intelligence, skills and interests. Prof. Dr. Ubol Reangsuwan was the founder and the first school principal. At present, Kasetsart University Laboratory School is equivalent to one department of the Faculty of Education with the status of the Center for Educational Research and Development.

Kasetsart University Laboratory School is determined to develop the following characteristics in its students : readiness in meeting the challenges of a constantly changing society and environment ; ability in dealing with problems appropriately by using their knowledge and abilities of technology, intelligence and, morality for the sake of their own and society’s happiness, peacefulness and common interests ; belief in democracy ; pride in being Thai ; obeisance for the community’s laws and rules ; inquisitiveness , purposefulness and realization of their full potential. |

Kasetsart University Laboratory School provides general education for children from grade 1 - 12 and has developed its own curriculum based on the Ministry of Education’s curriculum. All staff members have helped to adjust the school curriculum so that the subject matter, skills and morality content is very modern and relevant to the environment and to the needs of our students. Fox example ; English conversation for grade 1-2 ; beginner’s English lessons from grade 3-12 together with English conversation with native speakers of English ; opportunities for students to study according to their skills and interests and explore their talents and abilities through various extra curricular activities in a continuous system, such as out - of - school activities, invitation of guest speakers form original learning resources, in and out - of - school academic competitions in various subjects, exhibitions, etc. |

Besides the extra curricular activities of many subjects, KUS provides substantial learner - developing
activities to stimulate and encourage students’ potential under the very close supervision of classroom teachers
and advisors. For example

Based on the school policy as a child center, KUS provides special educational programs for students
with special learning needs such as learning disabilities, attention deficit hyperactivity disorder, behavioral problems,
emotional problems and autism.

KUS campus of more than 47 rais ( 1 acre = 2.5 rais) provides the following facilities ; 7 classroom buildings well - equipped with modern teaching medias in each room ; a sports complex with a fitness center , and a gymnasium with an indoor swimming pool ; a 9 - storey building consisting of an auditorium with 3300 seats, a cafeteria, educational and audiovisual services ; workshops ; ICT center ; libraries and a multimedia center, a school hall with 300 seats ; a hall of fame : football pitches, playground space and equipment for children, and a tennis court |

To meet the government policy of globalization and the school philosophy, KUS provides opportunity-extending education to develop Thai youths’ abilities in foreign languages , namely the International Program and the Multi - Lingual Program |

International Program
KUS established the International Program (IP) in 1993. The school offers teaching and learning in English by native speakers , while the students have to study Thai and Thai Culture with Thai teachers and often participate in extra curricular activities which promote the value of being Thai with students in the Regular Program.
There are classes from kindergarten to Grade 12. The enrollment of students is separated from Kasetsart University Laboratory School’s (Regular Program). The School is situated at the same campus as KUS.

Multi - lingual Program
The multi - lingual program for students in Grade 1 - 12 has been established in order to develop human resources and expand educational opportunities to the East of Thailand. The school offers a truly multi - lingual program with emphasis on learning and practicing foreign languages, especially English from Grade 1 and Chinese and Japanese taught by native speakers. The enrollment of students is separated from Kasetsart University Laboratory School’s (Regular Program). The school is situated at Amata Nakorn, Klongtamru, Muang, Cholburi

KUS provides educational services and supervision for other institutions especially the schools under Bangkok Metropolitan Authorities, under Prae Province Council, under Roi - Ed Province Council, under Sakol - nakorn Province Council etc. Moreover, KUS arranges educational training services for visitors from many institutions in Thailand and overseas including the cooperation of arranging lecturers to different departments. |
